Boxee and windows media center run great and sometimes I connect with HDMI to my 46" TV. Boots very fast and comes back from sleep in about 2 seconds. Only bad part is the too smooth touchpad and the terrible touchpad buttons. Oh well, nothings perfect but this comes close.Ed Kirsteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13138258138188807848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-799018679089943817.post-37152279142644512432010-09-25T20:05:48.528-07:002010-09-25T20:05:48.528-07:00AFAIK yes, you'll need to order online from HP...AFAIK yes, you'll need to order online from HP.com - hopefully by holiday season it should reach Staples and Best Buy stores. You can use coupon code LHD25 for an extra $25 off.Leslie G. Are the only sold on the HP websites?

Alan AlvarezUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09234070082604665576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-799018679089943817.post-61495573877691994512010-09-25T14:40:02.758-07:002010-09-25T14:40:02.758-07:00Hi Alan,

The system runs 64-bit apps like a champ and can comfortably multitask - you should have a considerably better experience doing what you do on the dm1z.Leslie G. Sounds like a better deal [even though historically I haven't had good experiences with HP laptops]. I have been using a 12.1" Dell 700m notebook for about 5 years now [and I am very happy with it], and I was enticed by the 10" netbook due to its lighter weight and smaller footprint. You suggest considering the move to the DM1Z, instead of the 10" Atom N550 netbook, and I can see why. But before I make the jump, I need to know how much more performance will I get from the DM1Z than from what I am getting with my 700M [2ghz/2MB Ram]? I usually run WP, IE, Outlook, and an office calendaring system all at once. Can the DM1Z handle that like my 700M?

Thanks.

Alan AlvarezUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09234070082604665576noreply@blogger.com
